• When measuring your dog for this martingale collar, keep in mind that the collar will need to be able to slip over your dog’s head, so you need to measure both. With your dog standing on all fours, measure snug (not tight) around your dog’s neck and head (preferably with a soft tape). Use the larger of the two measurements to choose your size. If your dog's head is a lot larger than its neck, we recommend getting one with a buckle. Make sure to consider if your dog is still growing or not. Note: A martingale dog collar is designed to provide gentle control and prevent dogs from slipping out of their collars, especially for dogs that are prone to pulling. Great alternative for traditional choke chains and prong collars. Unlike standard collars, it tightens slightly when the dog pulls but stops at a preset point to avoid choking or discomfort. This makes martingale collars an effective and humane training tool, offering better control while keeping your dog safe and comfortable. *Properly fitted, the collar will be comfortably loose whenever the dog is not pulling against the leash.
